I will champion steady progress, prudent spending, innovation and results. I will ensure that your elected members will work together to make good decisions for better outcomes by keeping the community at the heart of everything we do.
As the former Deputy Mayor and Acting Mayor, I had the opportunity to experience the roles, the immense pressures that go with it, and what it takes to get things done. As your Mayor, I will be strategic, I will be decisive, I will listen, and I will be proactive rather than reactive. With skills in business, leadership, governance, mediation, and advocacy, I am also privileged to have strong relationships with stakeholders, businesses, tangata whenua and our community. This equips me well to lead as Mayor during this critical time in our city.
